About HoBR

Rachel Lynch is the founder and creative director of House of Black Rabbit, a San Francisco–based visual studio focused on photography, videography, and visual direction for musicians and performers. Her work centers on intentional storytelling, technical precision in live environments, and creating visuals designed for real-world use — from press and promotion to releases and performance documentation.

Why House of Black Rabbit Exists

House of Black Rabbit was created out of a desire to move beyond one-off shoots and surface-level content. After years of working with musicians and performers, it became clear that what artists needed wasn’t just imagery — but guidance, continuity, and intention behind how their work was presented.

I work as both a visual storyteller and creative partner — helping artists translate sound, emotion, and performance into visuals that feel aligned and usable in the real world.

  • Creative direction and visual identity

  • Photography and videography for live and promotional work

  • Strategic thinking around how visuals are applied

I believe

  • Visuals should support the music — not distract from it

  • Content works best when it’s intentional, not constant

  • Consistency matters more than trends

  • Collaboration and communication are essential

Let's Work Together

Most projects begin with a consultation to understand your goals, timeline, and vision. From there, services are tailored to fit your needs — whether that’s a single show, a content session, or a longer-term visual direction project.

The best work happens when visuals are treated as part of the art — not an afterthought.
